new year, new projects!

so since I am pretty much still only good at baking lasagna, I've moved on to a better and more expensive hobby, fishezzz!

I scored a tank from craiglist about 2 hours of staring at my computer contemplating a pet I could actually afford and tolerate. there was no turning back.

And with a little...er, alot of help from the boyfriend, I managed to set up everything once i got back in Iowa City and decided what fishes would put up with such a aquarium novice. I decided on 5 pretty tiny neon tetras, and a catfish to get rid algae problems.

Its been about a week now since i got the fish, and things seemed to be going well, until yesterday...

Biggest problem hit me after I got the fish in the tank, of course.

So dispite my earlier research on what 'hardy' fish I should choose and my annoying inquires to the petco "aquarium animals specialist" I later look up Neon tetras and find out they are actually the most fragile of the tetra species and SHOULD NOT BE PUT IN "UNCYCLED" NEW AQUARIUMS. well damn. thanks for all the help petco.

I found one poor guy dead today. and if the other four go, atleast i got them on sale?
